The French navy has intercepted and boarded a tanker in the Mediterranean Sea suspected of being part of Russia's shadow fleet. The ship, Deyna, is believed to have operated under a false flag designation and was flying the flag of Mozambique. The operation was conducted in cooperation with allies, including the United Kingdom, who monitored the ship. French President Emmanuel Macron described the vessels as "war profiteers" who evade international sanctions over Moscow's war on Ukraine. The case is currently being referred to a prosecutor in Marseille.
