The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been notified of a potential measles exposure at a hotel in eastern Iowa. The person reportedly stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites between March 4 and the morning of March 5. Anyone exposed to this location should monitor for possible symptoms, including fever, cough, red/watery eyes, runny nose, and a rash. The Iowa HHS has issued a warning to Iowans to ensure they have received a measles-containing vaccine and consider an accelerated measles vaccination schedule for their children. As of 2026, there have been no confirmed measles cases identified among Iowa residents.
