The joint operation was conducted by members of the Danbury Police Department, DEA Bridgeport Field Office, the Brookfield Police Department and the CT Department of Consumer Protection. The operation was aimed at enforcing vape shop regulations such as underage sales of tobacco products, the sale of DBC products with THC concentration beyond the allowable levels, and the sale and distribution of illicit THC products. Two shops, Smoke Station and Cali Exotic Convenience, were inspected for compliance and both businesses were closed down. The Department of Labor issued a Stop-Work Order by the CT department for violating labor law requirements, while the Department of Revenue Services found that Smoke Station had an expired permit to sell tobacco products. The shop was also found to have 9.75 pounds of raw (flower) equivalent pounds of illicit cannabis products, including oil, bud, and edibles.
