Egyptian authorities have arrested a man after a video surfaced showing him verbally abusing and attempting to physically assault another person who confronted him about smoking during Ramadan in Abbasiya, Cairo. The man was identified as a resident of North Sinai Governorate and later confessed to the incident. During Ramadan, many Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, which is not widely observed, is not illegal to smoke or eat during this period.
