RIP Mac Pro: Apple officially kills its tower computer

Apple has discontinued its Mac Pro, a tower computer that was last updated in 2023 with an M2 Ultra chip. The Mac Pro section on Apple.com has been removed, and Mac Pros are still available through Apple’s Certified Refurbished store. This decision was confirmed as a surprise, as Apple believed the Mac Studio is a better product. The discontinuation leaves Apple without a modular tower computer, but it has been moving away from these machines for a while.
