Libyan's National Oil Corporation (NOC) has redirected flows from the Sharara oilfield through alternative pipelines after a fire broke out, causing production to continue. The El Feel oilfield pipeline was used to transport supplies to the Mellitah port, while remaining volumes were diverted to storage tanks in Zawiya. The fire was caused by a leak at a valve on the Sharra crude export pipeline. NOC said this move would significantly reduce losses. The field is one of Libya's largest production areas with a capacity of between 300,000 and 320,000 barrels per day.
