The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has resumed normal flight operations at San Diego International Airport after a shortage of air traffic controllers caused significant delays. Nearly 200 flight departures and arrivals were delayed due to the lack of staff in the air traffic control tower. The Transportation Security Administration has not been paid for 42 days and many employees are not showing up for work. President Trump has signed an executive order to pay the remaining remaining TSA agents. The airport is urging passengers to arrive 2 1/2 hours before their flights to avoid further delays.
