Paul Todd Howarth, 72, has been arrested for suspected arson in connection to a February fire at an Estes Park hotel that damaged several rooms. The incident occurred on the night of the fire at the Expedition Lodge on Feb. 27, when emergency personnel were called to the hotel after a fire alarm was raised and heavy smoke and an active fire was discovered. The fire originated in Room 169, where a propane heater had been placed and caused significant damage to the building. No one was seriously injured during the incident. Howarth was identified as the only person staying in Room 179 and has been issued with arrest warrants for fourth-degree arson and criminal mischief.
