The Arizona Cardinals' decision to draft Carson Beck in the 2026 NFL draft has been met with criticism, including CBS Sports and USA Today. Beck had been ranked 114th on the consensus board, nearly 50 spots later than he was actually drafted. Despite this, he was drafted third at the position and was widely viewed as having a limited ceiling. However, film study reveals that his ability to process what a defense indicates is an NFL-style system, particularly in the Miami national championship game. Despite his limited athleticism and limited arm strength, Beck's ability to adjust quickly to difficult passes into tight windows is noted.
