Newburyport police are asking for public assistance in investigating a series of thefts of historical bronze plaques in cemeteries. The 12 by 24 inch bronze marker was stolen from a memorial in the Old Hill Burying Ground on March 24. This incident occurred as the department was already investigating several similar thefts. The public is urged to report any suspicious activity in areas such as cremeteries and town property.
