State says Hartford Board of Education has $24M shortfall

The Connecticut Board of Education has informed the school district that it has a $24 million shortfall in its accounts. City leaders are trying to find ways to avoid this deficit for the upcoming school year. Over the past decade, the school budget has been cut by $200 million and 600 people have lost their jobs. Meanwhile, Mayor Arunan Aridav is working to secure additional funding from the state.
