Capital City Sports Cards was one of two Lincoln businesses to be burglarized early in the morning, with the front door being smashed in and the merchandise taken. The theft, which occurred at 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, totaled between $10,000 and $20,000. The shop received an outpouring of support from the small-business community, with customers fleeing the scene and donating items to help. The owner, Chris Dietrich, believes this isn't the first theft and believes the growth of the sports card industry makes places like his business a target due to its growing popularity. Another robbery was committed at the Romantix Adult store just before the theft.
