Blessing of the Tractors in Jefferson County marks start of busy farming season

The fourth annual blessing of the Tractors in Jefferson County, Maryland, marked the start of the busy farming season with a crowd of 35 farmers from the county. Event organizer Dale Gaugert and members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church held the event to celebrate the importance of agriculture to their community. The event attracted tractors from all types of vintage and vintage, with some sharing stories about their family farming heritage. In his blessing, Pastor Chris Raiford asked God to make it extraordinary and acknowledged the role of faith in agriculture. Jefferson Mayor Dale Oppermann shared that the county's agriculture-based economy provides good jobs and food for many more through their work.
