Duval County burn ban: City asking residents to help report violations

The City of Jacksonville has implemented an emergency burn ban across all of Duval County, Florida, in response to dangerous wildfire conditions. The ban applies to all open burning within the county and includes residential burning, recreational fires, fireworks and commercial land clearing operations. Any exceptions must be approved on a case-by-case basis. Residents are encouraged to report any violations during business hours or outside of the day. Commercial violators face penalties up to $8,000 per violation.
