House Ethics Committee to consider expelling Rep. Cherfilus-McCormick in public hearing

The House Ethics Committee is investigating allegations that Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, a South Florida congresswoman, stole $14 million from state disaster relief funds and then used it for her 2022 campaign. The committee has found 20 additional counts of violating House rules for congressional members. A public hearing is scheduled for April 21.
