Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has stated that the proposed antitrust settlement between the U.S. Department of Justice and Live Nation is "preposterous" and that the state will continue a separate lawsuit against the company. The DOJ had previously sued Live Nation and its subsidiary Ticketmaster in 2024, seeking to break up the two companies. The settlement includes the sale of up to 13 of Live Nation's amphitheaters nationwide and a 15% cap on service fees for those who want to use the venues. As part of the agreement, Live Nation’s exclusivity deals with venues are also being cut. Nessel criticized the DOJ and President Donald Trump” for not continuing the antitrust case.
