Penn Entertainment Inc. saw a significant increase in Q1 revenue due to the opening of the M Resort’s 375-room tower in December, a major boost for the company. CEO Jay Snowden stated that the company saw revenue grow by 12.4 percent for the West division, indicating that three more expansion projects are in the pipeline. He also noted that higher gasoline prices have not affected casino visitation yet, likely due to higher tax refunds. Penn Entertainment reported a net loss of $2.8 million, 2 cents a share, on revenue of $1.8 billion for the quarter that ended March 31. The company also plans to open a new hotel tower in its Hollywood Columbus property in Ohio and will relocate its Hollywood Aurora casino in Illinois.
