Spaceflight Records Is Ready To Take Off

Brett Orrison, founder of Spaceflight Records, began the non-profit music label six years ago in Austin, Texas, aiming to give artists equity and more proceeds while supporting them throughout their careers. The company has established 501(c)(3) status and created an equitable recording contract that is artist-centric. Around 98% of their artists keep 100% of the profits from their profits, and they don't reimburse them for any of their services. The label also offers a la carte services from Spaceflight, such as full album campaigns or legal services. Spaceflight has signed artists from Heartless Spitzards, bands like the Toadies, Bastards, and the Urban Spitz, the Blackwater Wave, and an advisory board featuring Butthole Surfers, Widespread Panic, Dave Douglas, Dave Pumas, the lead MTV band, and a documentary filmmaker, Sam Pinada.
