The Queue, Boston.com's guide to streaming, has compiled a list of top streaming recommendations for May 2026. The list includes a quick look at the Coen Brothers' 2008 Best Picture winner "No Country For Old Men" with "Burn After Reading," a crime caper starring Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt. The film, which was criticized for glorifying violence and authoritarian tendencies, also includes "National Lampoon's Animal House" (1978), "Starship Troopers" (1997), and "Widow’s Bay" (2026), which was filmed in Massachusetts last year and stars Matthew Rhys as the haunted leader of a small island New England town. Other top streaming picks include "House of the Spirits" based on Isabel Allende's 1982 novel "Allenende".
