Michigan inmate in for murder sentenced to more time after cell phone is discovered

Vincent Smothers, a 45-year-old Michigan man in jail for murder, has been sentenced to 14-58 months for possessing a contraband cell phone. This comes after he was sentenced to 1 to 40 years in prison for providing a false affidavit to a court. While serving his sentence, he allegedly lied about the discovery of the false affidavits he was asked to sign to support another inmate's request for a new trial.
