Personal Trainer Toby King has revealed that a common workout routine can lead to erectile dysfunction. The muscles surrounding the pelvic floor, which play a direct role in erections and arousal, are overworked and can strangle the blood flow and compress nerves essential for healthy sexual function. These include those who constantly brace under load and skip recovery, like those who do so five days a week. The problem is exacerbated by poor form and poor breathing. King recommends reducing exercises that load the groin, inner thighs, and deep hip muscles while symptoms are present. For men with pelvic tightness, reverse Kegels or pelvic floor drop exercises are recommended. The most common issue is a chronically overworked pelvic floor.
