“Thank you for saving my life”: Deaconess doctor reunites with rare heart attack survivor

Deaconess, Indiana, is celebrating its heart team for saving the life of 62-year-old Tammy Schmittler who suffered a rare heart attack last year. Despite the odds against her, the heart team at Deaconess installed a pump to her heart that allowed them to operate. This gave Schmittlers the chance to have a good quality of life and return to doing what she loves most. Dr. Adeel Siddiqui, the cardiologist who saved Schmittlet's life, said these types of recoveries make their jobs worth it.
