Carson Trivellini, a junior from Crystal Lake South, has been named the 2026 Northwest Herald Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Trivelini led the team to 27 wins and a Class 3A sectional final for the third consecutive year. He has been a varsity starter for the basketball team since his freshman year and has scored 1,290 career points. Despite his success in both basketball and baseball, he plans to continue his baseball career once he graduates high school. He also expressed his desire to go 8 for 8 in regionals.
