High school student extinguishes fire at Mashpee Senior Center

Jack Borkowski, an 18-year-old student from Mashpee Middle-High School, successfully extinguished a fire at the Mashpee Senior Center after hearing a "pop" and seeing smoke coming from a light bulb. He immediately ran to the fire station next door to alert them and grabbed a fire extinguisher from a nearby room where senior citizens were sitting. The fire was extinguished by the time the fire department arrived. After graduating high school, he plans to join the United States Army.
