U.S.-Iran talks set to begin in Pakistani capital after delegations arrive

Pakistan has confirmed the arrival of a delegation of Iranian negotiators for talks with the U.S. to end the six-week-old war Washington and Tel Aviv have led against Tehran. The talks aim to cement a two-week ceasefire that has been strained as Iran continues to block most shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iranian leader Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that scheduled negotiations for the end of the war cannot begin unless Israel halts attacks on Lebanon and the US releases Tehran's frozen assets.
