Inside Kilmac’s, one of Dallas’ most anticipated new bars

Dallas bar owner Feargal McKinney, founder of The Old Monk, bought Ron Patterson's former garage lounge, Kilmac's, after Patterson died in 2021 and after more than a year of construction and permitting, it is set to open in March 2026. Kilmac’s, which is next door to the second Old Monk bar in Oak Cliff, aims to reach a new audience of Dallas pubgoers without watering down the original. The cocktail list is 70% classics and includes a daiquiri with toasted coconut rum ($16), an old-fashioned with a Guinness beer reduction ($17), a nod to the Irish pub next door. For food and drink, the bar offers about a dozen pizzas, with prices starting at $19.
