Myka la Viña, a bride from Guildford, was saved by her nurse bridesmaids who hooked her up to an IV before her wedding day due to food poisoning. The couple had flown to Zamboanga City, the Philippines, for their wedding with 200 family and friends. Myka was unable to keep even water down without vomiting and had to resort to hospital. Ryan Hamoy, a groomsman, was able to purchase medical supplies from his work and Myka's aunt, Rezen Mae la Vina, managed to hook Myka up to a cannula on the fifth attempt and she was given almost a liter IV drip before the ceremony. Despite feeling ill during the ceremony and reception, Myka managed to feel better and dance the night away with her 200 guests.
