‘They have bonded together forever’: Kenai all-girls hockey squad wins co-ed state tournament

The KPHA Ice Hawks 12U squad from the Kenai Peninsula won the 12UB Alaska State Hockey Tournament, marking the first time an Alaskan all-girl team has triumphed over a co-ed field. The win was significant for more than just the trophy, but also for the players themselves. Head coach Chris Chambos described the victory as a big deal for girls hockey. The team also discussed the possibility of fielding a girls high school team for the high school state championship.
