The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) is set to perform its Takeover Tour in Detroit, riding high of interest in women's hockey during the 2026 Winter Olympics. This will be the fourth time the PWHL has brought its tour to Detroit, following high attendance events in 2023-24, 2024-25, and Jan. 3 of this year. Players such as Montreal Victoire forward Abby Roque and 2026 gold-medal winning USA hockey players Hayley Scamurra and Ann-Rene-e Desbiens won silver with Canada. The PWHL, which began its first season in 2022, has been gaining popularity through its eight-team league.
