Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent defended President Donald Trump's celebration of the death of Robert Mueller on Sunday's Meet the Press on NBC, in response to questions from Kristen Welker. Welker pointed out that while Mueller did investigate whether Trump's 2016 presidential campaign colluded with the Russian government, he had nothing to do with the move to order a raid on Mar-a-Lago, which was part of a separate probe. Besset responded by saying that while he was with the president at Davos, he felt empathy for his family and the president's treatment.
