'The Boys' Kicks Off Final Season with the Death of a Key Character: 'It Was a Long Time Coming'

The fifth and final season of The Boys, which premiered on Prime Video on April 8, saw the death of Jessie T. Usher's character, A-Train, who has been with the show since its premiere. The character was strangled by Homelander in the first episode, but Usher felt it was a long time coming. He asked creator Eric Kripke about A-train's future and knew it was the end of the character. Despite the death, Usher was pleased with the character's arc and said it makes for good TV.
