The deadlines set out in President Trump's executive order targeting state AI laws have been missed, raising doubts about the administration's ability to effectively regulate states on AI regulation. Key provisions include guidance from the Federal Trade Commission on consumer protection law, and the Commerce Department reviewing and publishing an evaluation of stateAI laws. The Commerce Department was also tasked with setting rules tying broadband funding to state laws, potentially cutting off funds to states with certain regulations. The Federal Communications Commission is considering a national AI reporting and transparency standard measure. The White House has stated that it is working towards ensuring the United States of America leads the world in Artificial Intelligence.
