Hideo Kojima and Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki's games have something other AAA titles don't, former PlayStation boss says: "You can tell it's their visions"

Former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida has stated that he prefers indie games as they offer more of a personal experience that isn't present in most AAA releases. He believes that Hideo Kojima and Hidetaka Miyazaki's games, particularly those with the pedigree behind them, differentiate themselves from other AAA titles. Yoshida, who was a key proponent of bringing indie games to PlayStation during his tenure, believes that indie game developers lead innovation for the entire industry, particularly in the gaming industry. He also notes that AAA studios are fans of many of these game designers and look at them for inspiration, and that indie games play a crucial role in the industry's innovation.
