Historic DC tavern, Martin's Tavern, has hosted politicians and politicians over its nearly century-long history, including every president from Harry S. Truman to George W. Bush, and Joe Biden, since its founding in 1933. The tavern was owned by former Major League Baseball player William Gloyd "Billy" Martin and his father, and remains in the family, owned by fourth-generation descendant Billy A. Martin, Jr. The restaurant serves American fare and features a range of cocktails, wine, and beer, with Champagnes priced up to $750 for a bottle. The bar's interior features include wood paneling, old-school wooden booths, and a back room where baseball stars like Mickey Mantle, Ty Cobb, and Yogi Berra once gathered.
