Baylor's projected starting center for the 2026 season, Yakiri Walker, was denied a temporary injunction by Judge Ryan Luna of Waco’s 414th State District Court. Walker, who had previously played for UConn, Colorado, and Memphis, was seeking a sixth year of eligibility to use. His claim states that he played 96 seconds for Colorado before sitting out the remainder of the season due to severe mental health issues. The trial date for Walker is set for October. With Walker out of fall camp and potentially missing all of the 2025 season, Baylor is looking for a new center. This comes as a significant setback for the team, which already had lost all but one starter from last season.
