$75M approved to boost housing across DeKalb County

DeKalb County, Georgia, has approved a $155 million housing initiative, the Housing Investment Bond Program, which aims to expand homeownership, preserve affordable housing and revitalize neighborhoods across the county. The program includes funding for first-time homebuyer down payment assistance, home repairs for longtime homeowners, financing for affordable and workforce housing developments, neighborhood revitalization projects and services for people experiencing homelessness. The overall program is expected to leverage over $1.2 billion in public and private investment, creating or preserving more than 10,000 housing units. The long-term goal is to add 15,000 units by 2032.
