Tommi Jo Mejer, a California mother, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in relation to the fatal e-motorcycle crash her 14-year-old son was involved in that led to the death of an 81-year old Vietnam veteran. The incident occurred on April 16 near El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California. The child allegedly hit veteran Ed Ashman, who later succumbed to his injuries. Mejer initially charged with child endangerment, accessory after the fact to a crime, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, providing false information to a peace officer, and permitting an unlicensed minor under the age of 18 to drive a motor vehicle. If convicted, Mejer could face a maximum sentence of seven years and eight months in state prison.
