Rep. Melanie Miller, a Republican politician from Ashland, has proposed a tourism pass to offer discounts for Ohioans and out-of-state residents, in an effort to increase visitor numbers and stimulate economic development, job creation, and tax revenue for the state. The bill, which has bipartisan support, would be introduced to celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary of the year. All proceeds from the pass would be reinvested into the state's tourism arm. The cost of the pass is unclear, but Miller wants it to be affordable and offered at a discounted rate.
