Maggie Gyllenhaal gives Frankenstein's monster's companion a voice in 'The Bride!'

Oscar nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal's new film "The Bride!" began with a tattoo inspired by the 1935 movie "Frankenstein". The writer-director, who made her directorial debut with 2021's "The Lost Daughter," watched the film and felt inspired by Elsa Lanchester's portrayal of the titular bride. The result is a punk and bold new take on the classic classic, "The Bride!" which sees the monster's companion, played by Christian Bale, brought to life by Jessie Buckley. The film also features Gyllenhall's brother, Jake Gyllanhaal, and Spanish actor Penelope Cruz.
