A Bay Area man, identified as John S. V. E. G. M. A. G., lost his footing and fell several hundred feet off the snowy Mount Shasta, injuring himself and another climber. The incident occurred during a rescue attempt at the same time. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is believed to have been influenced by the incident.
