The New York Mets lost 11-6 to the A's, marking the fourth consecutive loss for the team. The game was marked by numerous mental errors, defensive miscues, and a lack of urgency, leading to a loss at Citi Field. The A's managed to take the series with a 2-1 victory over the Mets. The Mets managed to score five runs after the fifth, but Luke Weaver gave up four runs in the eighth. Bo Bichette homered for the first time with the Mets, a two-run shot off Jacob Lopez in the fifth and another in the seventh. Right-hander Kodai Senga also contributed to the game's five-run deficit. The team's performance was particularly disappointing, with several errors, a failed double play, botched ground balls and a passed ball forcing Sengas to throw more pitches than necessary over his 2 1/3 innings.
