World Cup soccer and American democracy join at Philly’s Liberty Museum

The National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia has hosted an exhibition titled "In the Arena: Sports and Assembly" focusing on the importance of American democracy and the World Cup soccer games. The exhibit includes four jerseys from players considered the greatest of all time, including Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo and Pelé. The exhibition also includes historic sports artifacts as part of a series about the right to assemble, called "The Forgotten Freedom".
