The suspected shooter, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, has been identified as a Los Angeles man. The FBI is investigating Allen's electronics and writings, and has spoken to family and friends to establish a clear motive for the shooting. The suspect was taken into custody after gunfire broke out at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner. The incident occurred when a man ran towards the dining area with gunfire, which resulted in President Donald Trump being rushed offstage. The shotgun and handgun used were legally purchased in California, according to a law enforcement source. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the suspect had expressed his intention to target members of the Trump administration. The manifesto allegedly written by the suspect called himself a "Friendly Federal Assassin" and stated that he was targeted Trump administration officials from highest-ranking to lowest.
