Police in Japan have arrested 30-year-old Naoko Mizunuma on suspicion of murdering her daughter, Niiros, 4, at a domestic violence shelter in Kama City. The two girls were found collapsed inside their room at the shelter on March 10, with their bodies confirmed dead an hour and a half later. Mizunum, a part-time worker and mother-and-child support facility worker, is accused of strangling her eldest daughter with an electrical cord and cutting her own neck with a knife. She survived the incident with minor cuts to her neck. Police believe this incident was a double murder disguised as an attempted murder-suicide.
