Republican hopeful Clay Fuller defeated retired Army brigadier general Shawn Harris in a special election for Marjorie Taylor Greene's old congressional seat. This victory increases Republicans' slim majority in the House to 219 representatives, compared to 214 Democrats. The Associated Press called the race in Fuller's favor. Despite some Democrats' excitement, Fuller's victory was largely due to a crowded Republican field that split the vote. President Trump endorsed Fuller on the eve of the election.
