McDonald’s delays U.S. launch of 'Stranger Things' Happy Meal while other countries get it first

McDonald's has delayed the launch of its Stranger Things Happy Meal, with the United States set to arrive on May 5. The new Happy Meal: Tales From ’85 Happy Meal will be launched internationally starting on April 28, placing the U.S. behind markets such as Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and parts of Europe and Asia. The promotion also includes retro 1985-inspired packaging, collectible character cards, and a digital interactive experience. This delay comes as McDonald's ends its current Mario-themed Happy Meal promotion and competitor Burger King appears positioned to launch The Mandalorian kids’ meal toys ahead of Netflix’s Upside Down-inspired campaign.
