USC football team has begun its spring football season, focusing on team-building rather than formal spring football. Coach Lincoln Riley stated that the team's talent is now their primary goal, but they need to build a team that can reach the College Football Playoff. The team's first spring practice was held at Howard Jones Field and included barbecues and player-run practices designed to help a highly decorated freshman class and nine transfers unite with the core of the team. The Trojans will hold 15 practices, including seven back-to-back sessions, with the final practice scheduled for April 4. Despite the early spring practices, there will be no formal spring game.
