DNR urges caution as ice conditions change

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resource (Minn. has issued a cautionary note regarding changing ice conditions. The best way to verify the thickness of the ice is to use an ice chisel. Additionally, the DNR has noted that the ice may be thinner near the shoreline due to the presence of vegetation and increased traffic.
