The heat and dry conditions continue to plague the Charlotte area, with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s and close to daily records for this time of year. Despite a potential cold front moving towards the area, there is no guarantee of significant rainfall. The combination of heat, low humidity, breezy winds, and dry fuels is keeping fire danger elevated across the area. A Fire Danger Statement is in place for Thursday and further down the line.
