Cloudflare made a WordPress for AI agents

Cloudflare, the cloud provider that connects millions of sites to the internet, has launched EmDash, a new open-source system that allows AI agents to take control of your website. Despite being in early access, EmDash has caused controversy among the WordPress community, with founder Matt Mullenweg stating that it was created to sell more Cloudflare services. The company claims to have rebuilt WordPress from the ground up and built EmDash with a built-in model context protocol (MCP) server, large language models (LLMs) to connect and interact with the platform’s documentation, and uses TypeScript, a programming language that AI agents can better understand. However, some critics argue that EmDash does not solve a security crisis surrounding WordPress plugins.
